AHS members with a ShieldGold® or ShieldPlatinum® plan can access video chat in the new AHS app as a free member benefit. The AHS app is available to download for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app will prompt you to add the property tied to your plan agreement to unlock all the app’s features. Once in the app, simply start a new request, select the issue you need help with, and choose Video Chat Now when prompted.

No, all you need is the camera on your phone! The camera will allow the Expert to see what you’re seeing and help assess the issue. You’ll just want to make sure the area is clear of any debris so you can access it easily with your camera. If you have a toolbox or any tools handy, it’s a plus to have them within reach. If not, that’s okay too! Your Expert can help recommend any tools needed to make the repair.

If your covered item cannot be fixed using video chat, you can easily make a service request for in-person help (for the cost of your service fee) from a Pro in the app after the video chat. Your Expert will also share their notes with your assigned repair Pro, which in many cases may help speed up the repair process.
