With just a few taps, you can handle service requests, make payments, and stay on top of coverage and plan agreement details. Plus, you’ll unlock easy access to exclusive member perks and discounts, making it simpler than ever to cover your home from unexpected breakdowns.
Let’s explore how to get the most out of this powerful app.
Downloading and installing the app
Finding the app is easy— it’s available on both the App Store and Google Play. Search up and download the American Home Shield app for free, and you’ll be well on your way to home warranty heaven.
Setting up your account
Time to get logged in. You can use your social media accounts, email, or the same credentials you use for MyAccount. Want an extra layer of convenience? Enable facial recognition and skip the passwords altogether.
The app will prompt you to add the property tied to your plan agreement. This step unlocks all the app’s features, from viewing your specific plan to making service requests and more.
Navigating the app
Once logged in, you’ll see a menu in the top right corner of your screen where your plan agreement and account management can be accessed. There will also be four main sections at the bottom of your screen: Home, Service, Payments, and Offers. Here’s what each page offers:
Home
This page provides a snapshot of your plan, letting you quickly check the status of any service requests and view reminders for overdue payments. If you manage multiple properties, switching between them is simple and straightforward. The Home page also offers up-to-date deals, exclusive discounts, and handy home maintenance tips.
Service
This is where you can view active service requests or dive into your request history. When creating a new request, just select the category (Appliances, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.) and provide details about the issue. Not sure what’s wrong? The app helps with descriptions of common problems, like figuring out whether you have a tankless water heater. Once you've added the info, the app assigns an independent and qualified Pro in your area to the job. You can then review and submit your request.
